Imagining again that conversation bout the view
That I never got to have with you

Then I sit up, Scan the bedroom
Its terrain is one you never bothered to explore
But we’ve built a map of yours

Then I glance at, Notifications
And I’m afraid to look and find that none were sent by you
Maybe my doubts were all true

But I open, That little window
I realize I’m ashamed to feel contempt for everyone
Who dared to raise my hopes that maybe you had sent me one

Then I slip on, Favorite work-boots
The rubber that they’ve shed lies in a trail that leads to you
But absent from that trail your rubber too

And I end up, That tired basement
Waiting to pretend to you I’d go there even if
